Biblioboard     BiblioBoard Library provides geolocation-based authentication through the IP address of the user's computer or GPS coordinates of their mobile device.  Anyone who is physically in Illinois can access the collection without a login.  A patron who creates an optional account while in Illinois will be able to access the collection outside the state by logging into their account.

DMV Practice Tests     This service includes free tests specifically based on the state’s DMV materials.  It is the only site of its kind to include accessibility tools that let users hear selections read aloud, make them into MP3s, translate pages into other languages, magnify text, and mask portions of the screen for greater visibility on the practice tests.  Includes tests for cars, motorcycles, and CDL.

DuoLingo     The best free way to learn a language.  Learning with Duolingo is fun and addictive.  Earn points for correct answers, race against the clock, and level up. Our bite-sized lessons are effective, and we have proof that it works.

Explore More Illinois     Explore More Illinois is a cultural pass program that allows Illinois public library cardholders to access discounts at museums, park districts, historical societies, zoos, arts centers, recreational facilities, and other attractions.

Illinois Legal Aid Online     The DeKalb County Legal Self-Help Center provides legal information to DeKalb County residents about their legal rights and responsibilities, instructions on how to handle common legal problems, assistance with some legal documents and forms, and referrals to free and low-cost legal services.

Inkie.org    Inkie.org is a partnership between RAILS and BiblioLabs, LLC to bring all Illinois libraries and residents resources to self-publish e-books, and access to collections of independently published e-books by local authors.

Inkie.org is all about sharing and supporting local authors and our creative communities, as well as providing access to these resources and tools to everyone in Illinois. Users can:

  • create books using Pressbooks software.

Online Order of Protection for Illinois     The library provides computers to access the Online Orders of Protection form.  For assistance completing the form, contact the Circuit Clerks Office in your County.

U.S Citizenship Test Prep     Becoming a citizen in your new country is a great step.  As a citizen, you can vote in national elections and contribute to your community.  Research also shows individuals who naturalize, or become citizens, often make more money and have better job opportunities.

VIN Decoder     In the market for a used car?  This new free VIN Decoder tool may come in handy when doing automotive research.  This tool takes the official (raw) data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration API, add the image of the actual vehicle, and auto-calculate a few parameters such as the age of the car.  It is then displayed in an easy-to-read, mobile-friendly format that tells the vehicle's "story": its manufacturer, brand, make and model, body style, engine size, assembly plant, and model year.  On the page you can also find how to locate the VIN on a vehicle and how to read it.
